Wide variety of dishes, from meatloaf to taco's. They have daily specials & usually a list of very good deserts including strawberry shortcake or peanut butter pie. Some days they are only open till 3 pm.
We went to Haystax for Breakfast & this is what breakfast is supposed to be! We went with friends & had a great experience. Attentive server, very crowded restaurant, but we were able to find a table for 4 with room for my Service Dog. The breakfast menu is good old southern, diner, comfort food. They also have that wonderful diner coffee that is impossible to replicate at home or to find anywhere other than diners. The restaurant has generous portions. Thankfully the restaurant has a lot of seating space, because they need it, but even when busy you can usually find a table or have a short wait for one. The rest of the large menu looks good, but I can only speak for breakfast as we haven't made it for lunch or dinner yet. I recommend to breakfast lovers & we will be back!
The best thing on the menu is the fried shrimp. The amount of shrimp you get is rediculous. All their breakfast menu is very good. Great hamburgers done to your taste. A little pink for me.
We have gone here twice for breakfast with a Meet-up group of friends. Though they don't take formal reservations, we let them know we were coming and they had tables placed together ready for us in a small room off to the side. I didn't hear anyone complain about the service or the food. My omelette and home fries were certainly good. Our server was friendly and efficient, and she kept track of our checks and who was together quite well. You pay at the register instead of at the table, but that was handled efficiently as well. The rest room was clean. Their sign out front was blown down by Hurricane Irma, so for a while you will need to keep an eye out for the front of the building where there is another sign.
Always get a tasty meal at this place. My son enjoys the prime rib night. I look forward to trying that too!
